Books in the Barn

Free to the community and open monthly from April to October, Books in the Barn is a chance to meet the locals, visit our majestic barn and take advantage of free books!

Really, free books?

Yep, totally free. See the story below to learn more about how this all came to be.

Can I donate books?

We are more than happy to take your gently used books and share them back out to the community. Drop em off on a Books in the Barn day or in the brown box by the gate at any time.

Sorry, no tax credit is available.

What kind of books do you have?

The books are primarily children's books, but we are slowly growing a juvenile and adult collection as well.

The Books in the Barn Story

Grandma sent books. The prior owner of the farm had a ton of books after years of Grandma sending them as gifts to the kids. Rather than tossing them out or leaving them in dusty old boxes, the family decided to open up the farm to the community and launched Books in the Barn.

In 2019, our family took over the farm and loved the idea of Books in the Barn so much, we decided to keep the tradition going. We look forward to the time each month where we welcome new friends and old ones into the barn. It is always so rewarding to see the kids running around, playing with cars and of course loading up on free books.
